Lemonweir River

A river in Wisconsin

About Lemonweir River

The Lemonweir runs 32 miles through Juneau County, past Clearfield and the town of Lemonweir, to the Wisconsin River. The survey puts 953 acres of surface and 171 miles of bank on it — a great deal of bank for the acreage, which is the mark of a river that bends constantly through flat sand country.

Two public accesses are on record: the boat ramp at Kennedy County Park and the Lemonweir Mills public access.

Smallmouth bass is the only state fisheries designation here, classified across wadable warm water and both non-wadable substrates. This is slow, tannin-stained central Wisconsin water rather than anything fast or cold.

Check the current Wisconsin DNR regulations before keeping fish.

Written from Wisconsin DNR hydrography and fisheries data. State water ID WBIC 1301700.

Fishing license

Wisconsin sells them online. Buy one from the state. We don’t know whether you need one — that depends on your age, where you live, the water, and what your guide’s own license covers.
