Crawfish River
A river in Wisconsin
About Crawfish River
The Crawfish runs 28 miles through Dodge and Jefferson counties, past Lowell, Elba, Hubbleton and Aztalan, before joining the Rock River near Jefferson. The survey puts 1,311 acres of surface and 124 miles of bank on it.
Six public accesses are on record and most are canoe launches: Astico County Park, Aztalan State Park, County G, Hubbleton, Olson Road, along with the ramp at Rotary Park.
Smallmouth bass is the only state fisheries designation here, classified across four habitat types including nursery water. This is slow southern Wisconsin farm-country water rather than anything fast, and the access pattern reflects that — small craft, put in and drift.
Check the current Wisconsin DNR regulations before keeping fish.

Wisconsin sells them online. Buy one from the state. We don’t know whether you need one — that depends on your age, where you live, the water, and what your guide’s own license covers.
