Bark River
A river in Wisconsin
About Bark River
The Bark River runs 33 miles through Waukesha and Jefferson counties, through Delafield, Utica, Hebron and Heath Mills, before joining the Rock River. The survey puts 433 acres of surface and 99 miles of bank on it.
Four public landings are on record. Smallmouth bass is the only state fisheries designation, classified as nursery and wadable warm water.
This is settled southeastern Wisconsin, and the river threads a chain of small lakes and impoundments on its way south. Running through the middle of several towns makes it easy to reach and easy to fish in short pieces.
Check the current Wisconsin DNR regulations before keeping fish.

Fishing license
Wisconsin sells them online. Buy one from the state. We don’t know whether you need one — that depends on your age, where you live, the water, and what your guide’s own license covers.
Do you know this water?
The state lists these ramps nearby but doesn’t say which water they belong to. If you fish Bark River, you’ll know better than we do.
